Take dust cage friction spinning as an example. The spinning principle of friction spinning is shown in the figure on the right. Due to the suction inside the dust cage 2, the fibers fall into the wedges between the two dust cages to condense into slivers. Adhering to the surface of the dust cage, the two dust cages rotate in the same direction. One generates an upward frictional force R1 on the condensing strands, and the other generates a downward frictional force R2 on the condensing strands. When the yarn is pulled out from the yarn introduction roller 3, the condensed sliver is the tail end of the yarn; the yarn is grasped and output by the yarn introduction roller, and the yarn tail is twisted and rotated by the dust cage, and the yarn is thus twisted. Because the introduction of the yarn and the replenishment of the fiber at the end of the yarn are performed simultaneously, a continuous output sliver can be obtained. Because the condensed whiskers on the surface of the dust cage are free, this friction twisting method belongs to the free end twisting into yarn. During the twisting process, the linear velocity on the surface of the dust cage is approximately equal to the speed of the surface of the yarn itself. Therefore, the low speed of the dust cage can make the spinning get higher twist, which can greatly increase the delivery speed to obtain high yield. The direction of twisting of the sliver is opposite to the direction of rotation of the dust cage. The amount of twisting depends on the speed of the dust cage, the state of contact between the surface of the dust cage and the sliver, and the suction force of the dust cage.
